Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Personal Development to join our leadership team. In this pivotal role, you will: Ensure that the provision outlined in Section F of each pupil’s EHCP is delivered effectively through our curriculum, resources, and partnerships with external professionals.


Salary: M1–M6 (£31,650–£43,607) to UP1–U3 (£45,646–£49,084) + SEN Point + TLR (dependent on experience)
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only + 5 INSET days + 5 additional agreed days
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: September 2025
Closing Date: Friday 16th May 2025
Reports to: Headteacher

The Role – Head of Personal Development

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Personal Development to join our leadership team. In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Ensure that the provision outlined in Section F of each pupil’s EHCP is delivered effectively through our curriculum, resources, and partnerships with external professionals.

  • Promote pupil engagement and foster a culture of learning where children feel valued, motivated, and able to thrive.

  • Manage and monitor funding to ensure that every child receives the appropriate resources to support their individual needs.

  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to develop a comprehensive personal development programme.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial teaching experience.

  • Proven leadership skills, ideally in a special school or SEMH/ASD setting.

  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation, EHCP requirements, and funding structures.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
